5 Ways to start a novel.

1. Your grammar

it is useful to have a reference book nearby to consult you when writing. avoid fancy words. keep your sentences simple and understandable. know the parts of speech you are doing.

2. Introducing Too Many characters

No one wants to meet 10 people at once, in real life or fiction. At least stick with 4 or fewer characters in the first chapter.

l once read this other novel that introduced 6 characters in the first chapter, and that’s so confusing. l bit you don’t want your readers to go back in the first chapter to find out who Jonny smith is, and why he wears pampers.

3. Backstory

l won’t like knowing what happened 5 years ago or 800 years ago. l care about what is going to happen right, this present short time. Once you tell me about those 2 years ago. l will immediately stop reading your book.

4. Not producing conflict

it’s just so boring to read a story without any conflict in it.

There are millions of books in this world, motivate me on why l should keep on reading yours.

5. Satisfying Ending

Ending your story in a little bit of some shocking news is the best. your reader will want to read more of your stories. Show them something that will make them want to read more. impel them to keep reading. leave them with questions like, ‘‘what happened to John Diesel?.

That way you will leave your readers surprised, and shocked.
